Monitor not detected when connected via DisplayPort to HP DisplayLink 4K hub

On a new Lenovo X1 laptop with the HP DisplayLink 4K dock, I plug in a Lenovo ThinkVision monitor via DisplayPort, and it is not detected. Ensured latest drivers are installed including the DisplayLink manager, which shows the hub, and “No display detected” under it. However, If I use HDMI, it works. Unfortunately, that isn’t a solution for me as I have 2 external monitors and the other requires the single HDMI port on the dock, so this monitor must use the DisplayPort.
