Dell Laptop XPS 15 9520 getting error when booting up.
Your port does not provide enough power to operate the attached device, if possible attach a power adapter to the external device.
Any advice?
Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the community.
The error you’re seeing on your Dell XPS 15 9520 occurs because the system has detected a power adapter with insufficient capacity. Depending on the configuration you purchased, your system requires either a 90W or 130W adapter.
Please note that the UD-3900PDZ provides 60W of power delivery, which is below Dell’s recommended requirement. While it should be able to charge your system, it will be slower, and it may not provide enough power for more demanding applications.
I recommend keeping your original power adapter connected, as the system should prioritize the more powerful adapter. If the warning persists, try connecting the UD-3900PDZ to the USB-C port on the right side of your laptop. Alternatively, you can disable the warning message in the BIOS, as it is enabled by default.
I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
Thank you,
Adi
