Yoga 910 with Plugable Charging and triple monitor support

Hello,
I just purchased the Plugable charging and triple monitor support docking station. I was able to get the video to show up on my monitor when plugging in the USB-C cable to my Lenovo Yoga 910 but none of the peripherals work. I really only need the mouse and keyboard but neither one will work.

Hello Joe,

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! Sorry to hear about this issue. I’d be more than happy to assist you.

The Yoga 910 is engineered a little differently than most other USB-C laptops, in that it has two USB-C ports that split out functions that normally are bundled together.

Both provide USB data, but only one provides the ability to charge the system, while the other provides video output known as DisplayPort Alternate mode that the ‘HDMI 4K’ output of our dock relies on to work. It is for this reason that we do not recommend our Triple Dock for the Yoga 910 system (our UD-3900 dock is a better solution → http://amazon.com/dp/B00ECDM78E for the Yoga 910). We do our best to call this information out on our compatibility chart on our product page here → http://plugable.com/products/ud-ultcdl/

Put another way, this means that the dock will charge the system when connected to the one USB-C port that supports charging, but the ‘HDMI 4K’ output will not work. However the ‘HDMI 2K’ port and the ‘DVI’ port should work as they are powered by a DisplayLink chip inside the dock itself.

If the dock is connected to the ‘other’ USB-C port that supports video output, the ‘HDMI 4K’ output will work but the system will not charge.

Please don’t hesitate to let us know of other questions.

Thanks again for contacting Plugable support and best wishes!
