Windows not recognising transfer cable as transfer cable, but as something called 'Hurricane 3'

Hello, I recently purchased a usb 2.0 pluggable easy transfer. I have been trying to get it to work for a few hours now and have had no success. I realised, in device manager, it is not showing up as any sort of USB device, but as something called ‘Hurricane 3’ under ‘Other Devices’. I’m not sure why, and I’m even more unsure on how to fix it. As far as I know there are no drivers I can download specifically for this cable. Any help is appreciated, just looking to fix this issue and get the cable working

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this. We would suggest to run our diagnostic program on both computers, one at a time, and with the cable plugged in. That should give an idea of what’s going on behind the scenes. Head over to this link when you’re ready for instructions: https://plugable.com/pages/plugdebug. Please reach out to us directly with the results, as they will be personal to your computers. We look forward to hearing back from you!

Thank you,
