Windows camera app only permits .9 MP pics from microscope instead of 2 MP

The windows camera app allows you to set the resolution of photos. The max resolution it lists for the pluggable microscope is 0.9 for 16:9 aspect ratio, 1280x720. But the website description says this is a 2MP camera. What happened to the other 1.1 MP? Is there a way to take higher res photos?

Thanks for asking!

In order to switch the microscope to a higher resolution mode, you must use the application we provide, available here:

http://plugable.com/drivers/microscope

From the options menu of that software, you can set the resolution up to 1600x1200 pixels.

That did it, thanks!

I guess it makes sense that my PC’s camera app will not allow that setting: max screen res on my laptop is 1920 X 1080, which is not enough to show a 1600x1200.
