Windows 10 - websites.seem to be blocked - Plugable USB 2.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Wired Network Adapter

Purchased because the add in Amazon states that the product is compatible with Windows 10. Thought that it was plug and play and would not have to install drivers. Selected the option to check for new drivers because the drivers as the CD Drivers are dated 11/11/2015.

Connected today and Firefox could not find it’s own online help server. Removed the usb adapter and went back too my 100 wired built-in adapter and no problems.

Made sure that when I installed the driver that both the wireless and 100 built-in adapter were disabled.

Really need T1000 speed. Any Ideas or do I just need to return the product?

Hello Sharon,

Thanks for reaching out to us on our forums, and I apologize for the issue you’ve been experiencing with the Plugable USB 2.0 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (! From the sounds of it, it sounds like you may not actually be getting a network connection but we can take a look and see what appears to be going on. To better understand the problem and what may be causing the behavior you’re seeing, I’ve a few questions for you and would like to gather some logs. With that in mind, below are a few questions for you.

Please email your reply to these questions to, as we’ll need to gather log files from the computer and we can’t get those via the forums.

  • When the Plugable adapter was connected and in use, what did the network status icon in the lower left look like? If you’re not sure what that icon is, please see the attached image.
  • Are you using a home network or a work/business network?
  • If you can leave everything connected and run our debug tool, we should be able to get some idea of what’s going wrong. Could you run it and reply back with the .zip it generates?

Here’s how:

Let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to working with you on this issue!
