Will the TBT3-UDZ Work with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection?

I’m building a new PC and wondering if this will work with my USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection and/or with my USB 3.2 Gen 2X2 connection. Thanks.

Thank you for reaching out to Plugable Support! I’d be happy to help answer your question.

In order to work with a non-Thunderbolt USB-C port, the USB-C port needs to support DisplayPort Alternate Mode as that is how displays can be supported over the USB-C port. Fro my knowledge, the USB-C ports on desktop PC’s / motherboards do not usually support DisplayPort Alternate mode, as they are counting on the user to connect displays directly to the video outputs on the motherboard or GPU. So because of this, my guess is likely that the USB-C ports on your desktop are not compatible with the TBT3-UDZ.
