Which Unit to use to watch video on HDTV from XP computer.

Hi:
I have a windows XP laptop with USB 2.0 and VGA output. I want to connect to our DLP HDTV that has HDMI 1.3 supporting uncompressed standard and high definition digital video formats and PCM digital stereo audio format. The Mitsubishi manual also says it will accept DVI input using an DHMI to DVI adapter plus analog audio cables. Our objective is to watch videos and on-line courses on the HDTV. It appears a couple of your products will support this need. Please advise which product will be most effective.
Thanks

Hi Mel,

Thanks for posting your question here! The Plugable USB2-HDMI-165 is the product we would recommend to connect a computer to the TV as long as your system meets the Hardware Requirements and Recommendations specified on the product page.

Although the Plugable USB2-HDMI-165 is capable of setting modes up to 1920×1080 (1080p), we recommend users manually set Windows to 720p (1280×720) or lower for best video playback performance. Above this mode, framerates will be limited by the USB 2.0 connection.

Unfortunately, the Plugable USB2-HDMI-165 is currently out of stock and is only expected to be back in stock by the end of the month. Sorry about that!

Hope the above information helps! If you need any additional information, feel free to post back here or shoot us an email at support@plugable.com. We are here to help!

Regards,
Roze
