Hi Gretchen!

Thanks for posting and for your question!

We have two docking stations, and the short answer is: both are compatible with your system.

It all comes down to what you need the dock for and what kind of monitor you’re going to use it with:

The DC-125 does only VGA and can support resolutions up to 1440×900. It also comes with 2 USB ports and doesn’t come with a power brick, it’s USB powered.

On the other hand, the UD-160-A needs a power brick but supports VGA and DVI up to resolutions of 1920×1080 and comes with 4 USB ports.

If you would like we can make a more accurate recommendation based on the monitor make and model you are going to hook up to the Docking Station.

Hope this helps!
Please let us know if you have any questions!

I also have an gt555m with optimus technology. My current hdmi port is only connected to the intel gpu. Will I be able to choose my gt555 as the input for your usb3-hdmi connection and will I be able to send 3D videos and games to my 3D TV?

Hi Gerrit,

I just wanted to make sure this question was linked with the answer from Ellen in this post:
