You don’t mention what product you are using, but I can guess you may be using one of our USB Ethernet Adapters…can you confirm what product you are using?
You mention you ‘lose internet speed’ when you close your laptop lid. Does your network connection drop altogether, or does the performance just seem to drop?
Closing the lid shouldn’t affect the performance of the adapter. One possibility could be the power settings on your laptop could be causing the adapter to go to sleep. Can you provide a few more details about your setup, like what model Dell laptop and what operating system you are using?
