WebCam Lag with UD-ULTCDL

I have had the USB Type-C Triple MOnitor dock for about a week now (Model UD-ULTCDL). Overall it has been nice, but I am having serious lag with my Logitech c610 web camera. Video is extremely choppy - basically unusable. I have tried every USB port on the dock with the same result. As soon as I plug the web cam into the machine’s (Dell P5510) native USB port, it works seamlessly. But through the dock, no such luck. I also use a logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo and that works fine in two of the 3 USB ports on the back of the dock, but lags in the third (top right) port on the back and also lags in the front USB port. Web cam lags in ALL ports.

Did I just get a bad one? I was really hoping this dock would be the only thing that I would have to plug into my pc - but now if I have to plug the webcam as well - it is not worth the money paid. Any ideas on getting this to work?

Hello Jerry,

Thanks for contacting Plugable support about this issue. I’d be happy to assist you.

Dell released a patch that changes a Windows Registry entry related to the Intel Management Engine that is not Dell exclusive which has resolved these issues for several of our customers using a range of different host systems from different manufacturers.

We recommend to try installing this patch as it may help resolve this webcam issue:

If that doesn’t help we may need to take a closer look at the system and see if there are any other updates it may be lacking that could resolve this. We have a troubleshooting tool that helps us find out what is going on in situations like this. Please plug the dock with webcam attached into your computer, then go to this page and follow the instructions there:
