Hello, I have a USB 3.0 HDD Plugable Docking station but it does not recognize my WD 1.0TB Drive (WD1002FAEX) but it reads other drives. Please advise.
Hi Bill,
Thanks for posting your question here, I’ll be happy to help.
If your WD drive is new, you may need to initialize it first–
If you’re on Windows 7 you can do this by typing disk management in the search bar and starting the Disk Manager. Here you should see the disk listed as unallocated space. If you right click on it, you’ll be given the option of creating a new volume. Follow the wizard to setup your new disk. If you are on XP, you’ll type drvmgmt.msc to start disk manager.
On Mac, you can initialize your drive through disk utility which is available in the Utilities menu.
I hope that solve the problem! If not reply back with a few more details like:
-
Amazon Order Id.
-
Operating System.
-
Is the drive new or does it already contain data? If so, what type of file system is in use, or what type of computer was it created on?
Thanks,
Jerome
