VivoBook Pro 17 and UD-CAM compatibility

#1

I have an Asus VivoBook Pro 17 (N705UD-EH76). The Asus website says: “includes a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port with a Type-C connector that supports data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps and 4K UHD output for external displays” Is it compatible with the UD-CAM docking station?

Hi Javier,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us, I would be more than happy to answer your questions!

The UD-CAM is a USB-C docking station that has very specific requirements for compatibility. While the specifications of your system show that it supports Data and VESA Alt-Mode (the ability to output to a connected display via USB-C) it does not indicate that it supports Power Delivery over the same port, or Power Delivery or the same port while also support Data transfer and VESA Alt-Mode simultaneously.

With this information in mind, this system is not compatible with the UD-CAM. I hope this information helps, if you have any additional questions or concerns, please let me know, and I would be more than happy to help.

Thank you for your patience,
