Just upgraded from a Surface pro 3 to a Surface Pro 7. UD-3900 ran flawless video for years on 2 extended monitors on the old 3.
Now on the 7, video freezes after running fine for awhile. Typically when in full screen mode. Freeze, black screen, freeze, black screen sometimes with audio, sometimes without. Usually followed by a “last USB device connected malfunctioned” error.
I have twice uninstalled the displaylink driver, then ran the uninstaller and reinstalled the drivers with the same result.
What next?
