Using 2.0 Plugable when the laptop is powered on and laptop lid is closed

Hi - I love the Plugable 2.0 interface and it was super easy to set up. One question I have is about to actually use the device with the laptop lid closed. Presently, when I plug in the USB cord to use, it uses the monitor; however, as soon as the laptop lid is closed the monitor disconnects the picture. I haven’t yet been able to figure out how to use laptop on the external monitor via Plugable with the lid closed, so I would love some instruction on how to do this. Thank you!

Hi Timothy,

Thanks for posting your question here! Yes, it is possible to continue working in clam shell mode. In order to do that you have to configure the system to not go to sleep when the lid is closed. If your OS is windows 7, here is a link to a post which has instructions on how to configure it: http://support.plugable.com/plugable/…

If your OS is not Windows 7, just post back and let us know what OS is currently installed on your laptop and we will send the appropriate instructions.

Regards,
Roze
