USB3-E1000 Unknown USB Device

Hi there. I have a USB3-E1000 Ethernet adapter and a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro running Windows 8.1. This device was working fine until I reset my computer after installing a 500 GB SSD. I did a clean install of Windows and the most recent USB3-E1000 drivers, but when I plug the device in I get a “USB Device not recognized. The USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it. Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly.”

In device Manager, it displays under Universal Serial Bus controllers as:

Unknown USB Device (Link in Compliance Mode)

I’ve tried selecting “Uninstall device” from Device Manager to no avail. I’d like to run “Update driver” and manually select the driver, but I don’t know where your installer saves the drivers.

Um… help? !](https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/1207300/USB3-E1000_inline.png?1432042196)](https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/1207300/USB3-E1000.png?1432042196)

Thank you for posting your issue with the USB3-E1000. I’m sorry you are having troubles with it.

We have seen some compatibility issues with the USB3-E1000 and USB 3.0 on the Yoga 2. One work-around is to use it with the USB 2.0 port on your computer.

However, I’m not convinced this is the cause of what you are seeing. I would like to take a deeper look at the device drivers on your computer.

We have troubleshooting program that will gather the device driver and installation logs that will help us understand what is happening here. With the adapter plugged in and connected to the Ethernet, please go to this URL and follow the instructions there:

http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug

It will create a zip file on your desktop with your computer name. Please email that directly to us at support@plugable.com. Please put ticket #101376 in the subject line.

Thanks!
