When connecting 1 XP computer and 1 Windows 7 computer to a printer, the Windows 7 computer will work on either port. However, the XP computer will not work on either port. The switch works fine with 2 Windows 7 computers.

There isn’t any good reason the printer shouldn’t work with the switch with the XP computer–the switch doesn’t do anything but pass through the signal-- so I have some questions to get a better handle on what’s going on.

Can you disconnect the printer from the switch and connect it directly to the XP computer? Does it work properly when there is a direct connection between computer and printer?
