USB2-E100 not being recognized by Macbook Pro

I purchased the USB2-E100 for my macbook pro with mavericks X. When I first plugged it in, the computer noticed it right away, then all of a sudden while trying to figure how to make it connect to the internet (because it was not doing so by itself) the computer stopped recognizing the USB and none of the lights are coming at the end of the driver. Not sure what I should do.
