USB 2.0 UGA-165 Multi-Display Adapter is not recognized. “One of the devices has malfunctioned…” and “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)” No light. Tried uninstall/reinstall of drivers and a different cable. Connected directly to the PC USB port. No help.

With a code 43, and the unit directly connected to your PC, unfortunately it’s most likely you have a bad unit. We’d like to get a replacement sent to you right away.

Just to follow up for the benefit of others - this was, in fact, a bad unit. We sent Ernest a replacement which arrived 4 days later, and he was up and running.
