USB Serial Converter

Using the USB Serial Converter to connect to a Zebra thermal printer 2442.
Does not print. Device manager shows Plugable is configured to COM1. Do we need to setup a virtual usb port? How?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for posting your question here, I’ll be happy to help. To get your Zebra Thermal Printer 2442 working, you’ll need to have drivers for the printer that are specific to your operating system installed and then add the printer as a device on COM1.

Also, can you say what operating system you are running. It looks like the printer only has drivers for windows XP and earlier, so you if you are running Windows 7 or 8 I don’t believe there are drivers available for your operating system.

I hope this helps! If you are on XP or earlier and the drivers are installed for the printer let me know the details of any error messages you are receiving when you try to print and we’ll figure out the best next troubleshooting steps.

Thanks,
Jerome.
