I have just bought a plugable usb serial converter, having seen excellent reviews for this. I have a computer running on Windows 7 64 bit and I am trying to run some Bridge scoring devices made by Bridgemate. Bridgemate supply their devices with a usb serial converter made by ATEN but also using a Prolific chip - I don’t think the previous cable I was given was the ATEN cable and did not connect to the ATEN driver, which I am told is ser2AT64.sys. The plugable cable appears to install correctly and the driver show as ser2pl64.sys - I assume this is correct? However it will not allow me to connect to the Bridgemate server. Can you suggest a solution? Should I now buy an ATEN cable instead despite their apparently poorer reviews? Clive Bushby
