USB ports stop working after a day

Monitor and rj-45 connection works just fine. I noticed that the usbs are being powered, but not recognized on laptop. I then switched the dock out for a new dock and all USBs worked again. The next day, I plug in the laptop and they stopped working again. I can’t get the laptop to recognize anything that is plugged into the dock via USB. I have already shut everything down and plugged them in one by one. Plugging any of the USBs directly into the laptop work, but not through the dock. Is this a driver issue? or Hardware? This is the second dock that did this in the matter of a week.
