USB port 2.0 Dell 3520 laptops to your 3.0 port extenders w/10/100/1000 what is actual speeds for USB and Ethernet using this port

So if my laptops are 2.0 USB and I get the 3.0 3 port extender and 10/100/1000 and looking at your # USB2-E1000 1) what will my USB speeds be at because laptops are 2.0? 2.0? or 3.0? 2) what actual speed would be delivered via device from 10/100 to 1000? Hope the latter but thinking since input is 2.0 that it won’t be as fast!
3) see there’s a software load / drivers as well correct? share link please! MAHALO!

Hello Julia,

Thanks for contacting us! We’re happy to answer your questions about our USB2-E1000 Ethernet Adapter.

USB 2.0 supports theoretical speeds up to 480Mbs. So our USB2-E1000 adapter will be substantially faster than 10/100, but it’s still limited by USB 2.0 bandwidth.

We appreciate your interest in our products and we hope this information helps.
