I plugged it in , downloaded the software and still nothing happens. Does not even show it was installed

It’s a common misconception that the microscope will work automatically upon attachment. In order to use the microscope, you have to launch an image capture application such as Digital Viewer of Photo Booth. A lot of these issues are addressed in the FAQ section of the product page, and I encourage you to look there:
