USB - C dock works fine w 2 monitors but crashes every day

Hi, just plug in my docking port, Works nicely with 2 monitors + the internet.

The problema came up at the second day when laptop stops to recognize the port and freezes.

I have to restart the computer and then all works nice for another day or half day…

Thanks for posting and I am sorry to hear of this issue! Based off of your description we’ll want to make sure that the software used by our adapter is in a good state. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the adapter from the system. Please keep it disconnected until the last step.
  2. Uninstall any and all software with ‘DisplayLink’ in the title that is present from within the Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Don’t worry if these entries are not present or if the process does not work, just move onto the next step
  3. Download, extract and run the DisplayLink cleaner tool, found here –> https://s3.amazonaws.com/plugable/bin/DisplayLink/DisplayLink+Installation+Cleaner+9.1.1462.exe
  4. Once the Cleaner has been run, reboot (even if not prompted to)
  5. Now download and install the 9.0 M1 DisplayLink software, found here –> https://s3.amazonaws.com/plugable/bin/DisplayLink/DisplayLink+USB+Graphics+Software+for+Windows+9.0+M1.exe
  6. Reattach the power cable to the dock first. Once the dock is powered on, reconnect it to your system

If these steps do not help, does disabling USB Selective Suspend help? We’ve seen this help in similar situations and I’d be interested to see if it helps here. To do so, here is a good guide if needed –> https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/73187-turn-off-usb-selective-suspend-windows-10-a.html for disabling selective suspend.

Thank you,

David W.
