USB Audio Adapter has no sound on Ubuntu Linux 16.04

Plugable USB Audio Adapter is not working on Ubuntu Linux. I am using Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS with Intel Next Unit of Computing model DCCP847DYE. I have tried booting with the device plugged in and I have tried plugging in the device after boot is complete. Either way it doesn’t appear to be functioning.

I tried to look for documentation via Google Search and not seeing anything specific for Ubuntu/Debain. Any help suggesting a link to documentation to get this working would be appreciated.

Hi Michael - With the audio adapter plugged into your system, go to System Settings > Sound and confirm if your audio output and input is set to the audio adapter (“Speakers USB Audio Device”).
