USB 3.0 PCIe card - Driver Code 10, Device Cannot Start

I’ve installed the USB 3.0 PCIe card with the correct driver (3.0.20.0). Device Manager shows a status of “The device cannot start (Code 10)” . This is on an ASUS A8S-X motherboard, 2 GHz socket 939. Is it possible this older version of PCIe is incompatible with the card?

Hi Richard-

Sorry to hear about the issues with your PCIE-USB3-SP, thanks for posting with the model number for your main board so I could check it’s specs.

Your board does have two of the standard smaller 1xPCI-E slots that should work perfectly with this card.

Can you please verify that you’re using one of the smaller, matching size slots?

Another common issue with these cards is that they may have errors when not seated fully. It’s pretty common to have to bend the mounting bracket a bit to get it to seat properly.

Please let me know if either of these common issues might be at play and I’ll be happy to dive in.

Best wishes-
