USB 3.0 DUAL 4K Displayport lenovo x270 keeps failing

USB 3.0 DUAL 4K Displayport lenovo x270 keeps failing. There is an incompatibility somewhere and this works fine on my x230. Same version of Windows 10 and RAM etc. I have the latest drivers for the Plugable device and updated drivers for Windows - has anyone seen anything similiar?

Hi Ben,

Thanks for posting!

Thank you as well for the detail you provided and testing the adapter with both systems that is much appreciated. The behavior you describe is certainly not expected, so our next step is to see if we can isolate it further.

Looking online at the specifications for your x270 laptop it appears to have two USB 3.0 ports, one on each side of the laptop. If you switch to using the ‘other’ USB 3.0 port on the opposite side does that change the behavior?

Thank you,

Bob

Hi Rob,
Swapping the USB port hasn’t solved the problem; same issue again today (i’ve not used the office where the pluggable device is located in the last 14 days, hence the reason why you’ve not heard from me. After the pluggable failed, the whole system then froze, forceing a hard power off/on. Any further ideas or info you want from me?

Hi Ben, my name is David and I’ll be jumping in for Bob, happy to help and I am sorry to hear that the same issue occurs when connecting to the other USB 3.0 port.

From here we’ll want to send you a replacement adapter and I will reach out to your email address that was used to register on our forums in order to facilitate this process.

Thank you,

David W.
