Do I use the driver disc that came with the adapter on an iMac running IOS 10.13.5? Instructions only cover windows machine. The adapter is certainly not plug and play.

Unfortunately it isn’t feasible to keep drivers that are physically printed to a disc up-to-date, and Apple frequently makes system changes that require driver updates for the network adapter.
The latest drivers from ASIX for the adapter should help to get it working as expected. Be sure to follow the driver’s included PDF for uninstalling previous driver versions before installing the new one or it won’t work.
