Unexplainable Issue

Hi.

I purchased the USBC-5000 and received it on 10/29/2025.

I purchased for use on a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ITH6H laptop. The specs for the laptop indicate a that the usb c port supports usb4 and thunderbolt.

I am running Windows 11, Version 25H2, Build 26200.6899.

I do have a 3 gbps internet service for both up and down speeds.

I installed the USBC-5000 on my laptop this morning and have been running tests using SpeedTest.

My laptop has a 1gbps nic. Testing the 1gbps nic produced on the for download/upload speed of 900mbps+

The USBC-5000 produced download speed of 600-700mbps and an upload of 2700+ mbps.

First, I don’t understand why the download speed is slower that the 1mbps nic connection.

These were multiple tests because the internet can be variable over time and not all tests were done at the same time.

I moved on to one of my desktops. I installed the device and drivers.

The download speeds were 2600+ mbps on download and the upload speeds were 2700+ mbps

I went back and repeated the test on the laptop and again I received 600-700mbps for download speeds and 2700+ for upload speeds.

I could use some suggestions.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us at Plugable and I can assist with troubleshooting these network performance issues with our USBC-E5000.

It suspect that this could be driver related issue with the laptop, as your desktop network speeds with the adapter are as expected.

As for next steps I would recommend running our software troubleshooting tool, Plugdebug that helps us find out what is going on in situations like this. Please plug the device into your computer, then go to this page and follow the instructions there: http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug

If you could, please contact us directly from our contact page here: https://plugable.com/pages/support . Please reference ticket# 481872 in your email. Please attach that Plugdebug log file in your reply as well I can examine it to see if there are any conflicting or older Realtek drivers which may help with these network speed issues.

Thanks,

Alberto
