Unable to install Plugable drivers

I now have two UGA-2K-A Displaylink-based USB 2.0 display adapters, and one works fine with my XP and notebook (I take it on the road), and one that does not work at with my Windows 7 Premium desktop.

I have tried to uninstall the older version of the Displaylink drivers 6.0-X to install the new 6.1-X and the setup file fails when trying to uninstall the older version of the drivers, and then subsequently fails to install the DisplayManager core files.

I have tried getting help from DisplayLink, but their forums will not allow me to post even after registering. Anything you folks have that will clean out the Displaylink drivers and let me start fresh?

thanks,

Hi Paul,

Thanks for posting here! I would actually recommend installing the DisplayLink driver 5.6M1 instead of 6.1-X as it is the most stable version on Windows. If you are interested here is a link to a post that explains why-:

Here are the instructions for uninstalling the current drivers and installing a different version-:

  1. Unplug the Plugable UGA-2K-A from the System.
  2. Download the DisplayLink Install Cleaner.
3.Once the download is complete, unzip the downloaded file and run it.
  3. Reboot the system
  4. Download and Install the new drivers. We recommend downloading the DisplayLink driver 5.6M1 from http://www.displaylink.com/support/sl… by clicking the ‘Agree’ button and run it to install this driver.
6.Connect the Plugable UGA-2K-A to the system.

Please do post back and let us know if you were able to uninstall the 6.0 drivers.

Regards,
Roze
