Unable to connect USBC-6950U to my macbook pro 2021

Hi,

I’ve got two samsung monitors connected to the plugable device(USBC-6950U), but they don’t seem to be working.

  • When I go to display i don’t see any monitors there.
  • the displaylink manager app icon on top right hand menu is grey. Is that how its supposed to be?

This is the first time i’m trying to connect exteral monitors, so I’m not sure whether something is broken or I’m not doing this right.

Both the monitors swtich on and when I press sourse they show connected to HDMI source…but nothing is working.

Regards,
Faraz

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting Plugable support. In our experience helping customers, most of the time, these kinds of display issues are related to the installation of the DisplayLink Manager App. The two most common issues we see are that the DisplayLink Manager App has been installed incorrectly or is not currently actively running. Since you stated that you see the DisplayLink Manager app icon, it appears it may be running, but let’s go ahead and step through the installation process one more time to ensure that all the necessary settings are enabled to allow the app the permissions it needs to display video to the external monitors.

Below, I provide our helpful installation guide that can step you through this process:

· For installation and verifying the DisplayLink Manager Application for macOS 13 and 14, please follow this link: https://kb.plugable.com/questions/1595423

· For installation and verifying the DisplayLink Manager Application for macOS 11 & 12, please follow this link: https://kb.plugable.com/questions/1185378

**Please take note that the installation process does require certain permissions to be set in order for the app to install properly, so we do strongly advise you to follow each step carefully.

Please let me know if this helps.
