Ultra Widescreen Monitor and plugable active displayport to hdmi not generating 2560x1060

Hi there,

I have a LG 34UM61-P 34" UltraWide Monitor connected to a Thinkpad USB 3.0 dock. The monitor and dock is being driven by a Lenovo X250 with an Intel HD Graphics 5500.

I just purchased and connected a plugable active displayport to hdmi adapter, but can still only reach a max resolution of 1920x1080. I am trying to get to 2560 x 1080.

Based on what I have read my hardware should be able to support that resolution. What am I missing or doing wrong?

Hello Hung, thanks for posting and I will be happy to help! We do not have the Lenovo USB 3.0 dock to test with, unfortunately, so I am not sure if this is expected when connected to that dock.

To clarify, is the LG 34UM61-P monitor the only one you have connected to the Lenovo docking station or do you happen to have another monitor connected to the DVI port?

Thank you,

Hi David,

I figured out the problem. I was trying to run 2 monitors. 1 at 2560x1080 and 1 at 1920 x 1080.

Apparently my hardware can only power 1 monitor at 2560 x 1080. Once I disconnected the other monitor, it worked as expected.

Thanks for the response.
