UD-UTLCDL with Lenovo T490S, Ehernet issue

Hi, when the dock is used with the LAN line plugged in, the laptop is not able to detect the ethernet connection and continues to use WIFI.

What is interesting, is the LED bahaviour when the lan line is plugged into the UD-UTLCDL dock. The amber LED flashes as 4secs-2secs-4secs-2secs interval, and the green LED flashes at 3 secs intervals. So both LED were flashing, not steady on.

We know the ethernet line is working, because when the same line is plugged into an ethernet adapter, it works fine. And the LED of the ethernet adapter is solid amber, with flashing green to indicate activity.

Any idea what we should do?

Thanks

Hi Pluto,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Plugable support forums!

Ethernet issues can be difficult to diagnose, as networking infrastructure varies on the environment and many factors are outside of our control. That being said, I’d like to take the next steps to explore further to see if anything stands out within the host.

Could you please keep the Ethernet cable connected to the dock (and the dock connected to the system), then navigate to our PlugDebug tool and follow the instructions there?

This will create a ZIP file on your Desktop containing system logs and information. Please send these logs to us directly at support@plugable.com with the subject line: “Ticket 284308”

Thanks for giving us a chance to help!

Mitchell
