Can you connect an older laptop to the UD-ULTCDL using a USB-C to USB 3.0 cable?

As a follow up to anyone curious, while not advised, it will work as the 2k and DVI use USB 3.0. I just have a laptop I use for internal stuff that doesnt support USB-C and at times need access to multiple monitors. Other than that I remote into it most of the time.
