I recently purchased an HP Spectre X360 14-ea1023dx using Windows 11. My UD-CAM that I use at home does not provide power to the new laptop (i.e. does not charge the battery), even though it provides power to my HP X360 Spectre 15-b1012dx and 13-w023dx laptops.
I would be happy to purchase another Plugable dock but now I’m not sure which one will work with my 14. I have a Plugable dual-monitor dock at the office that DOES work with the 14.
Thanks for reaching out and I’d be happy to help with that.
Looking up the specks for that HP Spectre X360 14-ea1023dx I can see that it uses Thunderbolt 4 as the connection ports. We have seen some issues that prevent the Power Delivery chip in the UD-CAM form interfacing with some Thunderbolt 4 laptops.
For these situations we typically recommend the UD-CA1A as it is similar to the UD-CAM but uses another PD chip that has been known to work better with the Thunderbolt 4 systems that the UD-CAM will not charge.
