ud-6950-PDZ ethernet port not working

The RJ45 port is not working on a brand new UD6950-{DZ docking station.
If I plug a USBA to RJ45 into a USB A port it works.
I have confirmed that the switch is a full duplex switch,
I have even placed an second switch in place.
For some reason when set to DCHP I get an IP address starting with 169 not the 192 it should be.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for contacting us! I am sorry this is not working as expected.

The UD-6950PDZ Ethernet port is controlled by the DisplayLink drivers, if these are not already installed on the computer I recommend installing them from our driver page here ( https://plugable.com/drivers/displaylink ). If the DisplayLink drivers are already installed and the computer is still unable to set a valid IP address, our next step is to get some additional information from your system.

If you would, please keep the dock connected to the computer with monitor(s) connected to the docking station (even though one may not be working) and attach the output of our diagnostic utility PlugDebug ( http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug ) to an email to ‘support@plugable.com’ with the subject line ‘Ticket #385168 - Attention Pat’ as this will allow us to examine some log files from your system to help determine the next steps.

Additionally, if this docking station is being connected to a network managed by a business or school I recommend contacting the IT department to register the docking station’s MAC address for use on the network.
