UD-3000 USB connection bouncing

I have a UD-3000. It has been working correctly with my relatively new HP Envy X360 laptop. Recently the connection between the laptop and the dock has started bouncing intermittently to the point that it is not usable. The HP BIOS was recently updated and Microsoft probably has sent a few updates without me paying attention, other than that I am not aware of any changes. Have you any ideas on how to resolve this?
I have reseated the cables and cycled the power on the UB-3000.

I replaced this with a UD-3900. While the issue is occurring less frequently, it just started to occur again.

If you could provide your Amazon Order ID (or other proof of purchase) associated with your Plugable device, I would be happy to check on your warranty status as well.
