How can I transfer email account settings from Vista Windows Mail (32 bit) to Windows 7 Live Mail (64 bit), together with archived emails? My first attempt transferred the address book but nothing else.

Thanks for posting with your question!
As you’ve discovered, Windows Easy Transfer does not transfer anything relating to email accounts, and we have to handle all this separately from your “main” transfer of documents, music, user accounts, and the like.
Email accounts, email messages, and address book contacts stored in live mail will all need to be manually exported and then imported to Windows Live Mail. Each (accounts, messages, and address book) must be done separately.
