Tired of the disconnections

Is it time for replacement? I have had my UD-160-A for 18 months and I have always had problems with the unit disconnecting. I have already been through a replacement unit and two or three cords. The unit doesn’t really work as well as I had hoped. I am going to shop for another unit as I cannot work with the disconnections. Does Plugable offer any improved products or is time another brand.
