Timeout after ten mintues of working.

I have the USB 2.0 Gigabit adapter on my MacBook Air 13" 2012 model (OS X 10.8.1). After reading the instructions, I downloaded the proper driver. The adapter would work fine for about ten minutes but then would suddenly drop connection. Not only my wired internet would stop, but also my shared home drive would not be detected by the computer. Help!

Hi Henry,

Thanks for posting your question here, we’ll be happy to help. When the connection drops, does it come back? What kind of activity is happening on the MacBook and on the network when it happens? Do you have other devices on your wired network? Do they keep working when the MacBook network drops?

With the adapter connected, If you type this command in a terminal:

kextstat | grep Ethernet

What output do you get?

Let me know these additional details and we’ll figure out our next steps.

Thanks,
Jerome.
