Thunderbolt Attached Devices shows but does not allow it to be approved

I have attached my Thunderbolt 3 Dual HDMI Adapter to my Dell XPS 13. I have ensured that all firmware, and all software that is listed on the support page for the dell 13.

It shows the device as attached but never pops up that the device needs to be approved. I saw it once but it disappeared before I could click on it. Now it just won’t show.

Any ideas how I can force it to be approved? Or anything else I need to update?

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for posting. I just replied to your direct request for help via support@plugable.com.

In general the Thunderbolt driver and software utility need to be up to date in addition to the system BIOS and Thunderbolt NVM firmware. There are also settings in the BIOS that control if Thunderbolt devices need to be authenticated. This should be turned on by default, but may be different on your system.

If you would just send the PlugDebug file and the screenshot of your Thunderbolt NVM details to our direct reply (don’t post those here) and we’ll determine the next steps from there.

Thank you,

Bob
