Hi, I have the Thunderbolt 3 Dual HDMI adapter plugged into my Dell XPS 13. I have 2 monitors connected with HDMI cables at 1080p resolution. The device works great but it gets so hot I can barely touch it. Is this normal? Does the type of HDMI cable make a difference? Any suggestions would be great, until then I will continue to heat my office with it
Thanks for posting! The aluminum enclosure of our Thunderbolt 3 Dual Display HDMI adapter can get warm to the touch while operating, so the behavior you describe is expected (of course understood that the definition of βwarmβ can vary). To your follow-up question, the type of HDMI cable in use will not change this behavior.
