Tessel 2.0 as Beacon via USB "Plugable" brand like Raspberry Pi

Tessel 2.0 will support the Bluetooth via the “Plugable” brand USB: https://tessel.io/modules#module-ble

Adafruit sells a USB that can act as BEACON on a Raspberry Pi:
It’s the CSR8510 A10 Bluetooth USB host http://www.adafruit.com/products/1327
Setup: https://learn.adafruit.com/pibeacon-i…

Will Tessel 2.0 “Plugable” brand USB be configurable as a Beacon?
If not is there another that’s compatible and configurable as Beacon for OpenWRT?

Thanks in advance for any help. Below is the Adafruit USB

Hi Robert,

Thank you for posting your question. Any Bluetooth 4.0 device can be configured as a beacon with the right software. A beacon is a very common use of Bluetooth LE. Here is an article about it on the Tessel blog that has information about iBeacons on the Tessel platform and a link to software.

We don’t have a Tessel 2.0 so I haven’t tested any of this.

I hope this helps.
