TBT3-UDZ doesn't work with HDR support with two monitors

Hello. I just bought 2 monitors, to be more specific 2 DELL S2722QC monitors.
When I use the monitors throught the dock station one of them shows a gray and low rich colors when I activate the HDR mode in the monitor. So I can only use HDR in one monitor. Is this a limitation on this dock or I need to configure something?

My laptop is a 2022 macbook pro M1pro. I tried all the configurations possible in the settings panel for both screens. If I activate HDR from the monitor’s menu, the option in the settings panel appears and I can activate it in both monitors but, one of them shows a very grayish colors. And in the menu of the monitors I can see HDRplus in one of them but not in the other.

I have both monitors connected with the same HDMI 2.1 interface.

I’ve tried to switch the cables in the dock to put the one connected to the output number 1 to the output number 2, then the same thing but in this case the monitor who shows a grayish color was the main monitor (in the other case is my second monitor)

Hello Jose,

Thanks for reaching out on our forums!

I wanted to provide some additional information regarding HDR support. The TBT3-UDZ docking station does not officially support HDR (High Dynamic Range), which we note in our knowledge base article here: https://kb.plugable.com/question/815695. With HDR enabled, the dock may perform unexpectedly, as you’ve observed.

Since you’re using a Mac, there aren’t any drivers we can update to address this behavior. If possible, we recommend disabling HDR to ensure optimal performance with your docking station.

If HDR is essential for your setup, you may need to explore other solutions that explicitly support HDR. It’s worth noting that our TBT4-UDZ docking station also does not support HDR.

We’re happy to help answer any further questions or provide additional guidance as needed!

Sincerely,

Mychal
