Surface Pro 6 & Microsoft Surface Connect To Usb-c Adapter

USB-C Triple 4k Docking Station and Surface Pro 6 work almost perfectly together with Microsoft Surface Connect To Usb-c Adapter. But only almost.

If I have Lenovo P24q-10 connected to the docking station’s HDMI-port, the display flickers and moves horizontally and reports that “Input signal out of range”. I can see the Windows desktop so in a way the output works but it seems like the refresh rate is incorrect. I’ve checked through Windows that it reports refresh rate as 60Hz and the resolution as 2560x1440 so these should be OK.

The display works OK if I use one of the displayport outputs.

Anyone else using Microsoft Surface Connect to USB-c adapter with the USB-C triple 4k station?

As an additional info, the monitor & docking station combo works without issues if I replace Surface Pro 6 & its adapter with a Surface Book 2. So the cables etc. should be OK.

Maybe something related to the Surface to USB-c adapter is causing issues with refresh rate?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! Sorry to hear about this issue. I’d be more than happy to assist you. Unfortunately we know from our own testing and reports from our customers that the Surface Connect to C adapter isn’t stable with universal docking stations like ours. At this time we’re unfortunately unsure if the issue can be resolved. We may need to offer you a return for a full refund on the docking station unless you’re able to use the dock with the Surface Book 2 which we do know to be fully compatible.

So sorry for the bad news! Please don’t hesitate to let us know of other questions.

Thanks again for contacting Plugable support and best wishes!
