I am a new customer with a TBT4-UD5 that I want to connect a single monitor to.
When I plug in my 2024 M3 MacBook Air, I can see that the dock is working from other peripherals, but I’m not getting any signal on my monitor from either HDMI1 or HDMI2. My monitor is an LG UHD 4k screen model 27BL85U.
When I plug in my 2023 M2 Pro MacBook Pro to the dock, I do get a signal on the monitor. So the cables are working properly and everything is powered.
From this article, I thought that the Macbook Air would work. Is there anything I need to configure on the monitor or computer to get it to work? Again, I am only plugging in a single monitor to use along with my builtin display. I am not trying to connect two monitors.
I am sorry to hear that you are running into issues with your TBT4-UD5, but I would be happy to help try and diagnose the issue here.
We do expect the TBT4-UD5 to be compatible for one display when connected to the M3 MacBook Air, and we did test it internally to confirm this.
First, can you confirm that you are trying to connect to your laptop using the included Thunderbolt 4 cable that came with your dock? We’ve seen issues arise when a third party cable is used.
Next, can you confirm that this issue is present no matter which Thunderbolt port on the M3 MacBook you connect the dock to? I just want to rule out the port as the cause of the issue.
