Shared Monitor

I’m transferring files and data from my old to my new Windows 7 computer. I’ve installed a KVM switch that lets me share monitor, mouse and keyboard and switch back and forth - it’s standard fare. I’m not looking to sync, just to transfer. And from reading, I gather it’s not a sure bet to work. It seems to me it’s worth a try. Is there any reason I *shouldn’t* install the software on both machines and then try the transfer? Thanks for “listening”.

Hi Gorham,

While the KVM scenario isn’t one we’ve tested, I think there’s a reasonable chance it should work – it will just require a bit of fiddling switching back and forth on the KVM to configure things and proceed with the transfer.

Shouldn’t be any harm in trying.
