Screen turns off or screen saver starts with Mac

I am using the USB 3.0 Display Adapter with my Mac. When using the adapter my laptop will randomly go into a sleep mode or the screen saver kicks in when it shouldn’t.

I bought this adapter because it says it supports Mac.

Other info:
Macbook Pro - 2.3 GHz i7
OS - 10.7.5

Hi Andrew,

Unfortunately, this bug is a core Apple problem, and with Apple pushing Mavericks it is doubtful that they will ever release a fix for OS X 10.7.5. This issue was resolved in OS X 10.8.2. At this point, the only way to solve the odd screen behavior is to upgrade to OS X 10.8.5.
