I’ve got a Plugable Gigabit USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter, and am trying to use it with a Samsung Chromebook Series 5. No luck so far … the link light comes on and the activity light blinks every now and then, but I never manage to connecting to the wired network.
Anyone else try this configuration?
Hi Thomas,
Thanks for posting your question here! Unfortunately our Plugable USB 2.0 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter does not currently work with Chrome OS because it requires a module re-compile even on the latest Linux kernels. Sorry about that!
Our Plugable USB 2.0 10/100 Ethernet Adapter is supported and works well with Chrome OS since the AX88772 chipset has had in kernel drivers for quite a while.

will you have support for the Plugable USB 2.0 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter in the future is there an ETA
Hi Eric,
Support for the Plugable USB 2.0 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter made it into Chromium development builds on Nov-22-2011 (See http://code.google.com/p/chromium-os/… for the gory details).
But it would be some time before Google releases it and for Samsung to pick it up.
We can’t know an ETA, but once there is an OS update available with these changes, we’ll make it known on http://plugable.com/ (you can subscribe for updates).
Hope the above information helps! If you need any information or help regarding any of our products, feel free to post back here or shoot us an email at support@plugable.com. We are here to help!
